URGENT UPDATE / ALERT
Medicare physician payment relief not included in government funding package!
Take Action
This past weekend, leadership of the US House of Representatives released language for the government funding proposal that is slated to succeed the current budgetary measure scheduled to expire on March 14. We have been working with our congressional offices to have a Medicare physician payment fix included in the next funding package. The draft of the next “Continuing Resolution” did not, however, include that fix.
Without a fix, this year’s Medicare payment schedule will lock in a devastating fifth consecutive year of Medicare cuts. Practice viability and access to care for Medicare patients hang in the balance.
Your outreach to your member of Congress is needed today. If you responded to the similar alerts that have been sent over the past week prior to the release of the funding package draft, please do so again. Every contact makes a difference.
The time is now – please contact your members of Congress today and urge them to ask House leadership to include language from H.R. 879 that would address the Medicare physician payment cut before they vote on the legislation this week! Representative Greg Murphy, MD from Greenville, NC is the lead sponsor on this bipartisan legislation and we need all House members to get on board and support the Medicare payment fix as a part of the next funding package.
This is likely the last, best opportunity to get the much-needed payment relief measure enacted. Thank you for your support and engagement.
